ST LOUIS METROPOLITAN CHURCH OF CHRIST
OUR HISTORY
The beginning of St. Louis Metropolitan Church came about as a result of the Sovereignty of God and the dream and vision that He gave Evangelist Christopher H. Mitchell along with twelve other Ministry T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) members. The Holy Spirit created within us an unquenchable desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the entire metropolitan area of the city of St. Louis, Not just certain well-populated areas. We were sent out as a mission work from the Florissant Church of Christ, which was our sponsoring congregation. Prior to the sending, we met several times, and discovered demographically that the Church of Christ congregations were poorly distributed throughout the entire city and county of St. Louis. In our findings, we noticed that there were more congregations in the county area than there were
in the city area. The city was being under-served. As a family in Christ, the St. Louis Metropolitan Church of Christ is one in mind, one in Spirit and one in purpose. It is our desire to make an impact on not merely an imprint in St. Louis. The work officially started on May 23, 2003 although our first Worship Service took place on December 7, 2003
